Lipoprotein lipase (LpL) catalyzes the hydrolysis of triglycerides in plasma lipoproteins at the
luminal surface of the vascular endothelium. This enzyme is bound via electrostatic
interactions to heparan sulfate (HS). The specific endothelial cell surface HS
